AJ then lifted up Adrianne's chin with his hand and kissed her lips, slipping his tounge into her mouth. Adrianne moaned slightly as AJ unsnapped her bra, throwing it onto the floor. Kevin screamed, "I'll teach you not to fuck my little sister!" He raised the bat up. "NO!" Adrianne shouted as she got in the way of AJ and the bat. The bat cracked down on Adrianne's face. She fell onto the floor screaming. When Adrianne took her hands off her face, they were covered in blood. She looked into the giant mirror in her wall. Adrianne's lower lip and nose were dripping blood, and her left eye was begining to swell. Kevin ran over to her, "OMG, are you ok?" "GET AWAY FROM ME!" Adrianne screamed at the top of her lungs, pushing Kevn. AJ sat on the floor next to Adrianne and wrapped his arms around her. "Shh" AJ whispered, "Calm down angelbaby. It's gonna be ok. I'm right here. I'll take care of everthing. Here-" He took his black wife beater and placed it on Adrianne's lip. "Apply pressure to it." AJ got up and walked toward Kevin, "YOU FUCKIN ASSHOLE! YOU HURT HER!!" AJ lunged onto Kevin, tackling him to the ground. Kevin, who was older and obviously much stronger, grabbed AJ by the neck, pulled him up, and slammed him into the mirror, causing it to shatter. Luckily, none of the glass periced through AJ's skin. "I don't want you around Adrianne." Kevin said fiercly, "I know the kind of guy you are. You've been with hundreds of girls. You sleep with them, use them, cheat on them, and break their hearts. Well let me tell you something, you can do that to any other girl you want, but I REFUSE to let you do that to my little sister. She's had enough pain in her life. She doesn't need anymore." "Kevin." AJ said, "I love your sister. She means everything to me. And damn she's great in bed!" Kevin grabbed the baseball bat firmly in his hand and hit AJ in the head with it, causing a huge gash on the right side of his head. Kevin slammed AJ onto the ground and took the bat and started beating AJ in the stomach and back with it. "Stop it!" Adrianne said, she ran toward Kevin and AJ. Nick pulled her back, "Don't Adrianne. Your hurt." "He's gonna kill AJ!" Adrianne cried. "No he won't." Nick said, "Brian's gonna stop him. I promise, AJ won't die." Nick hugged Adrianne. Meanwhile, it took Brian about 10 minutes to rip Kevin off of AJ. "What the fuck is wrong with you Kevin?" Brian asked, "Are you crazy? Look at what you're doing to Adrianne! It looks like AJ makes her happy. Why can't you accept that?" "AJ are you ok?" Adrianne called out, still crying. She pushed Kevin out of the way and saw AJ's limp body laying on the floor. He wasn't moving at all. His face was covered in blood, there was the huge gash on his head, and bruises were forming all over his body. "NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Adrianne screamed at the top of her lungs, leaning over AJ's body, "AJ wake up! Oh god, please wake up! I love you. Don't die on me. You can't die. I need you. Please baby....please." At that moment, AJ's eyes opend, but just barley. "Angelbaby...." AJ said, obviously in pain, "Please don't cry. I'll be ok." "We have to get him to a hospital." Adrianne said, looking up at everyone, "Give me your car keys Kev!" "No!" Kevin shouted, "I won't gve them to you." "Please!" Adrianne pleaed, "AJ's gonna bleed to death if he doesn't get to a hospital soon." Kevin just stood there, still having an angry look on his face. "Here" Kristin said, entering the room, handing Adrianne her car keys, "Take my car." Kevin was supirized, "Kristin! You're suppose to be on my side." "Not this time." Kristin replied, "This time you've gone too far. I can'y beleive what you did. I thought I knew you." "Cmon AJ." Adrianne said, "We need to get you to the hospital. I'll help you up." Brian and Nick helped as well. "Can you walk ok AJ?" Nick asked. "I'm not sure." AJ said. Adrianne, Brian, and Nick helped AJ out ot the car. "Nick," Adrianne said, "Do me a favor, please go back in the house. There's 2 backpacks in my room. I want you to pack my clothes and stuff in it. Then come to the hospital and drop them off." "I don't wanna go through your underwear drawer!" Nick said. "Just do it!" Adrianne shouted, "Close your eyes if you have to." Finally Nick agreed. Adrianne and Brian layed AJ down in the backseat. Adrianne went to get in the drivers seat, but Brian stoped her. "You are in no condition to drive." he said, "I'll do it." Adrianne got in the back with AJ. They then raced to the hospital. On the way there, Adrianne rested AJ's headed on her lap. "It's gonna be ok Alex. We'll be at the hospital soon." she said, "Brian we gotta keep talking to him. We can't let him fall asleep." "Ok" Brian replied, "Hey AJ, I can't beleive you're going out with Adrianne. Who would of thought after all these years?" "It's my fault." AJ announced, he looked at Adrianne, "I shouldn't have slept with you." "Don't blame yourself." Adrianne said. "Listen AJ," Adrianne said as they pulled into the hospital, "The police are probably gonna come by and ask questions. If they ask you, we were walking to Brian's house and we got robbed. The person hit me and then knocked you out. We never got a ood look at them. Ok?" AJ nodded in agreement. "We need help!" Brian shouted as him, Adrianne and AJ walked into the hospital. A couple of nurses rushed over. They rolled AJ down to ER and they put Adrianne in a doctors room. Adrianne got 17 stiches in her lip. She had a black eye on her left eye. Luckily, her nose didn't break. **5 HOURS LATER** Adrianne and Brian were sittng in the waitng room. They hadn't heard anything about AJ. Adrianne was really worried. She couldn't stop cryig. "Adrianne, it's gonna be ok." Brian said, tryng to comfort his cousin. "This is exactly why AJ and I kept it a secret." Adrianne said, "We knew Kevin would react this way. It's my fault. I shouldn't have told AJ to come over. I'm so stupid." "No you're not." Brian replied, "This isnt your fault. It's Kevin's. He shouldn't have reacted that way. He's way too protective." Adrianne waited outside of the house for Kevin and Brian to get there. She hadn't seen them in a year. The Backstreet Boys had been busy touring in Europe. Finally, Kevin and Brian arrived. Adrianne ran up and hugged both of them. "I missed you two." Adrianne said, a small tear ran down her face. Brian wiped it off with his hand, "You shouldn't be crying. It's your birthday." Everyone went inside and got ready for Adrianne's party. Adrianne, Brian, Tim, and Jerald were outside playing basketball. "How many people are coming over?" Kevin asked his mother. "Just Liz and her parents." Anne said. "That's it?" Kevin said, "Doesn't she have any other friends?" Anne nodded no. She looked out the window as Adrianne had made a basket. "She's gotten into 20 fights this year." Anne told Kevin, "I can't even begin to count how many times she's come home with bruises on her face." "Hey gurl!" Liz said, "Happy birthday!" Adrianne and Liz hugged and went inside and upstairs to Adrianne's room. "I don't know what to wear!" Adrianne said rummaging through her closet. Liz handed her a wrapped box. When Adrianne opend it, she saw a blue sundress. "Thank you." Adrianne said, "It's beutiful" The dress fit perfectly. Dinner wasn't read yet, so Adrianne and Liz dcided to walk down the street. They noticed about 3 blocks fro Adrianne's house was a moving van parked infront of an old house. A boy stepped out of the house. He looked to be about the same age as Adrianne and Liz. He had short blonde hair and blue eyes. "Hi!" he said, "My name is Trevor. Ijust moved here from California." "Hi" Adrianne said, "I'm Adrianne and this is my best friend Liz. We live 3 blocks from here." Trevor looked at Adrianne and smiled. Liz could tell he had a crush on her best friend, so she said, "I'm gonna hed back to your house Adrianne. I'll come back and tell you when your party is ready to start." "You're having a party?" Trevor asked. "Yeah." Adrianne replied, "It's my 15th birthday." "Oh" Trevor said, "Happy birthday. I'm 15 too." "Liz where's Adrianne?" Kevin asked as Liz entered the house. "She's down the street talking to some guy that just moved here." Liz said. "WHAT?" Kevin shouted, "Where?" "That big white house 3 blocks away." Without saying a word, Kevin walked out of the house, slamming the door behind him. "Kevin don't do this." Liz said, following Kevin down the street, "Not on her birthday." "So, your brother and your cousin are in a band?" Trevor asked Adrianne. "Yeah." Adrianne replied, "The Backstreet Boys. They haven't been home in over a year. They've been touring in Europe. They're not really that popular here in America yet, but I know they will be soon." "That's cool." Trevor said, "Are they any good?" "Yeah. They're really good." Adrianne told him, "I've got some videos of some their performances back at my house. Maybe you could come over sometime." Trevor smiled, "I'd like that." Suddenly Adrianne saw Kevin come up to her. "Hi Kev." she said, "Is dinner ready?" Kevin didn't say a word to Adrianne. He grabbed Trevor by the shirt and started shouting, "What do you think you're doing? Get the hell away from my sister. Don't you ever come near her again! Adrianne, we're going home, NOW!" Kevin grabbed Adrianne by the arm and pulled her away. "What the fuck is wrong with you Kevin?" asked as she stormed into he house, "I was just talking to him. He seemed really nice." "Yeah well I know what he was REALLY thinking." Kevin said, "The only only thing he wanted to do was get into your pants." "I'm only 15!" Adrianne replied, "You shouldn't have done that. I thought I was actually gonna have more friends." "I understand..." Kevin said. "No you don't!" Adrianne screamed, "You don't know what it's like for me. You were always so popular in high school. You had alot of friends, were on the football team, sang in choir, and in the drama club. It doesn't work that way for me. Everyay when I go to school it's like I'm entering a living hell. People make fun of me in the halls because of my mental problems and the fact that I tried to commit suicide 3 years ago. I'm so lucky I have Liz as a friend. But her and I have diffrent lunch periods. So I have to eat by myself while people call me names and throw food at me. So don't you EVER say you understand. I wish you would stop being so controlling. That guy was really sweet. I was suprized he seemed interested in me. Most guys just call me a weird and shove me into lockers. You don't want me to have a life Kev. You've ruined my birthday. YOU MUST HATE ME!!!" She ran upstairs and into the bathroom. "Way to go Kev." Jerald said, "You've completely destroyed her birthday." Meanwhile, Adrianne sat in the bathroom crying. She hated when Kevin acted this way. "Why does he think e can control me?" Adrianne thought. She then saw one of her razors on the sink. She thought maybe if she cut herslef it would make her feel better. "It's worth a try." Adrianne said. She grabbed the razor and slowly began to cut her wrist.......**END OF FLASHBACK**
"You slit your wrist ?!?!?!?!" Brian said, shocked. "Yeah" Adrianne replied, "I only did it that once. I thought it would make me feel better, but it really hurt. You can still see the scar if you look really close." She pulled up her sleeve and showed Brian. Another hour went by. Stil no word on AJ. Adrianne walked over to the desk and started screaming, "What's going on with AJ?" The nurse looked at some files in the computer, "We don't know yet." "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW YET? He's been in there for 6 hours! You have to know something!!" Just then a doctor came ver to her. "Are you Adrianne Richardson?" The doctor said. "Yes." Adrianne replied. The doctor looked at some papers on his clipboard and said, "This is what's going on with AJ......"
